The Women's Volleyball team (4-19, 1-8 CUNYAC) was defeated by York (7-19, 3-6 CUNYAC) in three sets, 25-21, 25-18 and 25-20. The loss ended BC's season by denying the Bridges a playoff berth.
Gabrielle Rodriguez (Nazareth / Brooklyn, NY) led Brooklyn with eight kills, while
Caitlin McMullen (Midwood / Brooklyn, NY) tallied seven.
Thea Schlieben (Rudolf Steiner / New York, NY) ended her BC volleyball career with a ten dig effort, while first year
Annalisa Carbonaro (New Utrecht / Brooklyn, NY) recorded ten digs as well.
Unforced errors cost the Bridges the first set, committing ten hitting miscues, leading to a 25-21 York victory. BC cleaned up its act in set number two, but still fell 25-18. York finished the sweep by taking the third set 25-20, behind a ten kill, no hitting error performance by Shanine Bogan (Clara Barton / Brooklyn, NY).
The Bridges will return much of the same roster next season. Graduating are seniors
Joy Rotstein (Ezra Academy / Brooklyn, NY) and the team captain, Schlieben.
