Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Tennis Team (0-2) were edged out by Rutgers-Newark (1-5) on Thursday afternoon by a 6-3 final.

For BC, the #1 doubles team of Ruth Perez (EBC Bushwick / Brooklyn, NY) and Olexandra Ovsiy (American / Dnepropetrousk, Ukraine) knocked off Rutgers Newark's #1 duo of Ashley Lawrence (Country Day / US Virgin Islands) and Lia Salierno (Clifton / Clifton, NJ), 8-6)

Coach Ahmad Odetalla did not focus on the teams loss, saying, "While we are disappointed with the result, we must quickly put it in the past and look ahead to tomorrow's conference match against City Tech."

The City Tech match will be at the Roosevelt Courts on Friday at 3:30 pm.
