Bulldogs Fall To Bearcats In Regular Season Finale

The Brooklyn College Women's Volleyball Team (11-11, 5-4 CUNYAC) fell to Baruch College (21-9, 8-1 CUNYAC) on Tuesday evening in the final regular season game of 2010, 0-25, 25-12, 25-17, 25-17.

After forfeiting the first set due to a late arrival, Baruch warmed up quickly bullying their way to a 25-12 set two victory.  Rebecca Peralta (Aquinas / Bronx, NY) was big for the Bearcats, notching three kills and 2 aces in the set.

The third set saw Brooklyn put up more of a fight as they trailed by only four, 16-12, midway through the set, however Baruch would go on a 7-2 run to take a 23-14 lead and essentially clinch the set.

The fourth set saw the two squads stay even early as they were tied at six, however Baruch took the next 12 points and cruised to the 25-17 victory.  Christina Pierre (Aquinas / Bronx, NY) was huge for the Bearcats, posting five kills in the set.

Brooklyn's Colette Dragon (Spring Valley / Spring Valley, NY) and Jillian Escobar (Francis Lewis / Queens Village, NY) each posted team-highs with 6 kills a piece.

Freshman setter Amanda Fiore (Susan Wagner / Staten Island, NY) led the team with 20 assists, while also chipping in with 3 kills.

Pierre led Baruch with 10 kills.  The senior is currently second in the conference in kills per set, entering the match with a 3.09 average.
