Brooklyn, NY --- After an 18 day layoff for finals and the holiday break, the Brooklyn College Women's Basketball team resumes its 2010-2011 season tonight at 7:00 pm when the Bulldogs will travel to Hoboken, NJ to take on the Ducks of Stevens Institute of Technology.
Brooklyn comes into tonight's non-conference tilt with a 6-3 record, while Stevens Tech enters the game with a 6-1 mark.
Leading the way for the Bulldogs this season has been senior point guard
Ariel Smith, who is averaging 17.7 points per game, 5.3 assists per game and 3.6 steals per game, all team-highs. She is also chipping in with 8.1 rebounds per game, good for second on the team. Junior forward
Justine O'Callahan is averaging 13.8 points per game, to go along with a team-best 9.5 rebounds per game. Classmate
Lauren Plagainos is the teams' third leading scorer at 12.0 points per game, while shooting 42.6% (26-for-61) from beyond the arc. Senior

Barrett is also averaging a team-best 9.1 rebounds per game. Dawn Garcia is leading the team with 3.6 assists and 2.6 steals per game, while chipping in with 8.7 points per game.
The teams are no strangers to each other as both squads squared off twice last season, with each team winning on their home court. Brooklyn got the best of Stevens Tech with a 79-68 overtime victory on 1/26/10; however the Ducks would have the last say as they ended the Bulldogs season with a 52-45 win in the Semifinals of the 2010 ECAC Division III Metro Tournament.
