Men’s Swimming Drops CUNYAC Meet to CSI, 126-73

Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Swimming & Diving team dropped a CUNY Athletic Conference meet to the Dolphins of the College of Staten Island earlier tonight at the West Quad Center Pool, by a score of 126-73. With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 1-4 overall on the season, 0-4 in the CUNYAC; while the Dolphins improve to 2-2-1 overall, 2-0 in the CUNYAC.

The highlight of the night for the Bulldogs came in the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay, as the quartet of Roman Vilnyanskiy, Eugene Yesin, Aleks Goos and Patrick O'Leary-Gullo bested the field with a time of 1:50.41.

Maxim Kravtsov posted a pair of second place finishes in the 200 IM (2:34.82) and the 500 Free (6:33.48). Vilnyanskiy (100 Fly - 1:07.64), O'Leary-Gullo (200 Free - 2:40.23), Goos (100 Free – 1:00.80), Yesin (100 Back – 1:19.12) and Anthony Chan (100 Breaststroke - 1:21.93) also had second place finishes.

The Bulldogs will be off until January 22nd when Brooklyn will start the 2011 portion of its schedule, as they will play host to the Panthers of Purchase College in non-conference action. The meet is scheduled for a 12:00 pm start time.
