BC Women Close Regular Season With 69-50 Win Over Briarcliffe

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball Team (16-9) defeated Briarcliffe College (9-9) by a final score of 69-50 in the regular season finale.  Before the game, BC's five seniors, Priscilla Ramirez (FDR / Brooklyn, NY), Joelle Laurenceau (Midwood / Brooklyn, NY), Frances Lyons (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY), Ryane Hecker (St. Francis Prep / Corona, NY) and Sabrina Washington (Elmira Free / Elmira, NY) were recognized.

Washington and Ramirez opened the game with consecutive three-pointers and then Hecker hit a two to give the Bulldogs an early 8-0 lead that they would never relinquish as they cruised to the 19-point victory.

Justine O'Callahan (Floral Park / Floral Park, NY) led the way for Brooklyn with 16 points off the bench, while Lyons notched another double-double, scoring 12 points and pulling down 13 boards.  

Ramirez, who hit two of her four attempts from long distance, finished with 11 points and added four assists.

Tamika Pearson (Heampstead, NY) led Briarcliffe with 21 points.

Brooklyn will not play until Sunday, when they will host Lehman in the CUNYAC Quarterfinal round in a 1 pm start.
