BC Women Fall To Stevens In ECAC Semifinal

Hoboken, NJ---In what was a back and forth defensive battle, the Brooklyn College Women's Basketball Team (17-11) could not hold on against Stevens (18-10) on Saturday night, as they home Ducks held on to a 52-45 win. With the victory, Stevens, the #1 seed in the ECAC Metro Tournament, will head into Sunday's final against the winner of the NYU / Drew game.

Frances Lyons (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) led Brooklyn with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while point guard Ariel Smith (Wallkill / Newburgh, NY) added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

The game was a defensive battle that saw both squads shoot 33% from the field.  Brooklyn had a very tough game from the free throw line, making only 2 of 10 for the game. 

Dawn Garcia (Bishop Ford / Brooklyn, NY) led Stevens with 14 points, including 4 for 11 from long distance.  

Brooklyn ends their season with 17 victories.  The squad won the CUNYAC South Division and won an ECAC Tournament game, both are firsts in school history.
