Purchase, NY---The Brooklyn College Bulldogs Men's Soccer Team (1-0-1) took to the road for the first time this season, and while remaining undefeated, the team was unable to secure their second win of the season as they played Purchase College (0-3-1) to a 0-0 tie on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman goalkeeper
Stamatis Boundouris (Xavarian / Brooklyn, NY), playing in his second collegiate game, pitched his first career shoutout, recording 9 saves while playing the entire game.
The two teams battled throughout regulation and then two overtime periods without a score. Head Coach
Rawle Hensford was impressed with the defensive effort, but frustrated with the ability to finish, saying, "Defensively we played well and overall we dominated, creating many scoring opportunities, but our final ball was lacking."
The Bulldogs did out-shoot the Panthers 25-20, placing 15 shots on goal, but could not convert.
Pajtim Gjonbalaj (FDR / Brooklyn, NY) led BC with seven shots on the day.
While not getting the desired victory, the team did get plenty of action to prepare for their first conference game on Wednesday as they travel to the College of Staten Island to take on the Dolphins at 4 pm.
