Men’s Soccer Falls to Farmingdale, 3-0

Farmingdale, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Soccer team fell to the Rams of SUNY Farmingdale State College in non-conference action earlier today by the score of 3-0. With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 2-5-1 on the season, while the Rams move to 3-8 on the year. 

Both teams played a scoreless first half with Farmingdale holding a 9-2 shot advantage. The Rams also held the edge in corner kicks, 3-0. Freshman goaltender Stamatis Boundouris (Brooklyn, NY/Xaverian) helped keep the visiting Bulldogs in the game making a pair of saves in the opening period. Boundouris would finish the game with seven saves on the day. 

Farmingdale came out of the break firing, totaling 19 shots in the half. Following a Brooklyn yellow card, Brian Anderson broke the scoreless tie finding the back of the net on a free kick in the 54th minute. The score would remain 1-0 in favor of the home Rams until the 70th minute, when Dennis Sfoglia found Alex Mendolia, who notched the second Farmingdale goal of the game. The third and final Ram goal came just minutes later in the 73rd minute, when Joe Lipsky took a cross in front from Tyler Balzer to beat the keeper. 

Brooklyn returns to action on Wednesday, September 29th, when the Bulldogs will host CUNY Athletic Conference and borough rival Medgar Evers College at Kingsborough Community College. Game is slated for a 4:00 pm start.
