New York, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams each dropped their City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) contest to the Bearcats of Baruch College at the ARC Aquatic Center earlier today.
The Brooklyn men lost by a score of 99-74, while the Brooklyn women fell by a score of 102-70.
On the men's side, the Bulldogs were led by
Vadim Reynus,
Patrick O'Leary-Gullo and
James Marty all took home a first place finish in the meet.
Reynus took first in the 100 SC Meter Backstroke with a time of 1:47.62; while O'Leary-Gullo took first place in the 400 SC Meter Freestyle with a time of 6:04.33. Marty finished first in the 100 SC Meter Breaststroke with a time of 1:21.81.
The quartet of O'Leary-Gullo, Reynus,
Wilson Lee and
Yury Nijnik took first place in the 200 SC Meter Freestyle Relay with a time of 2:14.32.
On the women's side,
Jenny Lee led the Bulldogs with a first place finish in the 100 SC Meter Backstroke with a time of 1:24.53.
Megan Pendergast also posted a first place finish with a time of 5:45.46 in the 400 SC Meter Freestyle.
Catherine Chan finished first in the 100 SC Meter Breaststroke with a time of 1:42.84.
In the 200 SC Meter Freestyle Relay, the team of
Angela Redekop,
Valentina Monroy,
Tonia Jerrick and
Viktoriya Aranchiy registered a first place finish with a time of 3:08.37.
The Brooklyn Women are back in action on Thursday, November 17th, as the Bulldogs will hit the road to take on borough rival St. Joseph's College – Brooklyn. The meet is scheduled for a 7:30 pm start at Brooklyn Tech HS.
The BC Men and Women will both be in action on Saturday, November 19th, as the Bulldogs will take on the College at Old Westbury for their 2011-2012 home opener. The meet is scheduled for a 12:00 pm start at the West Quad Center.
