Results
Brooklyn, NY ---- The Brooklyn College Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams each defeated the Cardinals of York College in a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) double-dual meet earlier tonight at the West Quad Center Pool.
The Men won 101-67, while the Women won by a score of 83-62.
With the wins, the Men improve to 1-2 on the season and 1-1 in the CUNYAC, while the Women improve to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the CUNYAC.
On the Men's side, the Bulldogs started off by winning the first event of the night, the 200-Yard Medley Relay as the team of
James Marty,
Brian Clarke,
Maksim Kravtsov and
Vadim Reynus took home first place with a time of 2:10.68.
Roman Vilnyanskiy had a strong individual performance taking first place in all three events he competed in, as he bested the field in the 200-Yard Freestyle (2:27.00), the 50-Yard Freestyle (25.87) and the 100-Yard Freestyle (59.38).
Marty (1,000 –Yard Freestyle – 13:39.22), Kravtsov (100-Yard Butterfly – 1:10.67) and Clarke (100-Yard Breaststroke – 1:15.50) also had first place finishes in their individual events as Brooklyn took home 8 first place finishes in the 11 events on the night.
Clarke's time in the 100-Breast also set a personal best time.
The quartet of
Patrick O'Leary-Gullo,
Wilson Lee, Reynus and
Ka Ho Yeung capped off the night for BC taking first place in the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:53.85.
On the Women's side, the Bulldogs were just as dominate taking home six first place finishes.
Leading the way for BC was
Valentina Monroy who took home a pair of first place finishes in the 200-Yard Freestyle (2:20.15) and the 100-Yard Freestyle (1:02.91).
Megan Pendergast (200-Yard IM – 2:43.46),
Catherine Chan (1,000-Yard Freestyle - 15:13.97) and
Jenny Lee (100-Yard Butterfly – 1:19.22) also took home first place finishes in their individual events.
The team of Lee,
Tonia Jerrick, Monroy and Pendergast began the meet with a first place finish in the 200-Yard Medley Relay with a time of 2:30.69.
There were also numerous alumni in attendance at the meet who were recognized by head coach and fellow BC alum Sean Kellar.
The Bulldogs return to the pool on Wednesday, December 7th, as the Brooklyn Men and Women will both be in action on the road against the College of Staten Island in a CUNYAC meet. Start time is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
