Staten Island, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams each lost a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) meet to the Dolphins of the College of Staten Island earlier this evening at the CSI Sports & Recreation Center.
The BC Women fell by a score of 112-90, while the BC Men fell by a score of 118-78.
With the losses, the Brooklyn Women fall to an even 3-3 overall on the year and 1-3 in the CUNYAC; while the Brooklyn Men fall to 1-3 overall on the season and 1-2 in the conference.
The CSI Men improve to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the league; while the CSI Women move to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in the CUNYAC.
On the women's side, the Bulldogs started off the meet taking the first event of the night, as the quartet of
Stephanie Caravello,
Catherine Chan,
Valentina Monroy and
Amanda Martino posted a first place finish in the 200-Yard Medley Relay with a time of 2:22.85.
Monroy and
Megan Pendergast each had solid individual performances, as Monroy posted a pair of first place finishes in the 100-Yard Butterfly (1:14.64) and the 100-Yard Backstroke (1:17.41); while Pendergast registered first place finishes in both the 1,000-Yard Freestyle (14:05.10) and the 500-Yard Freestyle (6:40.13).
Caravello also had a first place finish in the 200-Yard IM with a time of 2:47.5.
On the men's side,
Roman Vilnyanskiy posted a first place finish in the 50-Yard Freestyle with a time of 25.02.
Judah Sorscher also had a first place finish with a time of 8:52.59 in the 500-Yard Freestyle.
The team of
Maksim Kravtsov,
Patrick O'Leary-Gullo, Vilnyanskiy and
Ka Ho Yeung finished first in the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:54.09.
Brooklyn returns to action on Friday, December 9th as the Bulldogs will travel to Throggs Neck, NY to take on Maritime College. The meet is scheduled for a 6:00 pm start.
