Union, NJ---The Brooklyn College Women's Tennis Team traveled to New Jersey on Wednesday afternoon to take on Kean University in a non-conference match, however the Bulldogs did not have a successful trip, as they fell to the Cougars 8-0. The loss drops BC to 1-1 while Kean improves to 2-1.
Playing without their full squad, sophomore
Maria Sanz was moved up in the lineup to play #1 singles. Sanz dropped a tough 6-0, 6-0 decision to Kean's Lauren Petrucelli.
Norma Lynn Chabbott, also playing up, played tough, but lost her #2 singles match 6-0, 6-3 to Debra Dress.
In the most competitive singles match of the day,
Diana Rafailova, playing Kean's Erin Hendricks at #3 doubles, trailed 7-6, 4-3 when the match was halted due to darkness.
Gianna Gelosi,
Hadiya Cameron and
Maryam Esperanza F. Razaz also fell in straight sets during singles play. Cameron and Gelosi gave Hendricks and Erica Tapia a run in their #3 doubles match, but fell 8-6.

Coach Odetalla's squad will look to rebound on Friday as they return home to battle Brooklyn rival NYU-Poly at 4:00 pm.
