Brooklyn, NY --- In its regular season home finale, the Brooklyn College Women's Swimming & Diving team fell to the visiting Bloodhounds of John Jay College of Criminal Justice in a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) meet by a score of 115-84 earlier tonight at the West Quad Center.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 3-7 overall and 1-5 in the CUNYAC; while the Bloodhounds improve to 6-3 overall and 4-2 in the conference.

Before the start of the meet, senior Catherine Chan was honored by head coach Sean Kellar and her teammates for her hard work and dedication to the BC Women's Swimming & Diving program over the past two seasons.

Brooklyn would jump out to an early lead as the Bulldogs placed first in the opening event, the 200-Yard Medley Relay, as the quartet of Jenny Lee, Chan, Valentina Monroy and Stephanie Caravello took first place with a time of 2:18.29.

Monroy and Lee would have strong individual performances as well, as the duo each posted a pair of first place finishes.

Monroy took top honors in both the 200-Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:22.83 and the 100-Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:02.98; while Lee took home first place finishes in the 100-Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:17.96 and the 500-Yard Freestyle with a time of 6:49.12.

Other notable performers were Caravello, Jillian Escobar and Electra Telesford. Caravello had a pair of second place finishes in the 200-Yard IM (3:03.69) and the 100-Yard Backstroke (1:22.94), while Escobar (50-Yard Freestyle, 29:91) and Telesford (100-Yard Breaststroke, 1:33.54) each had a second place finish as well.

The Bulldogs will have a pair of non-conference meets on tap as tune-ups for the 2012 CUNYAC Championships, which are scheduled for February 2nd-4th at Lehman College.
