Box Score Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Soccer team dropped a hard fought game this afternoon to the Beavers of the City College of New York (CCNY), falling 4-0 at Brooklyn College Field. With the loss, the Bulldogs move to 4-5-1 overall on the season, while the Beavers improve to 10-2 overall on the year.
The Beavers opened the scoring early in the game, as Paola Ramos passed to an open Tabathia Azor, who found the back of the net in the third minute of play to put CCNY up 1-0.
Brooklyn would hang tough, keeping the game 1-0 until the 32nd minute, when Ramos put the visiting Beavers up 2-0 with an assist from Dzindzi Asamoah-Wade. Ramos would later return the favor, as she assisted on both of Asamoah-Wade's goals, with the first coming in the 38th minute and the other in the 40th minute of action, as CCNY jumped out to a commanding 4-0 advantage.
The game would head into the intermission break with the same 4-0 score.
The second half featured a much different BC team, as the Bulldogs tightened up their defense, holding the Beavers off the scoreboard for the entire second half. However, the Bulldogs would not be able to capitalize on their offense opportunities and recover from their first half deficit, as CCNY would go on take the final, 4-0.
For the game, the Beavers outshot the Bulldogs 17-8, while BC held the corner kick advantage, 4-3.
CCNY's Nicole Carroll played all 90 minutes to record the shutout and registered six saves in the process, while BC split time in net, with
Karolina Gorna playing the first half, allowing four goals, to go along with a save and
Melissa St. Louis playing the second half racking up four saves in shutting out the Beavers offense in the second period.
Brooklyn will be back in action this Tuesday, October 16th, as the Bulldogs will travel to the Bronx, NY to take on the Lightning of Lehman College. The match is scheduled for a 4:00 pm start time.
