Box Score Bronx, NY---In a rematch of a 1-0 defeat for the Bulldogs earlier this season, Brooklyn emerged triumphant on Tuesday afternoon, defeating Lehman by the same 1-0 score at the Lighting's Bronx campus.
Sayla Flores took a
Jillian Protin pass and found the net in the games 18th minute to give her team a 1-0 first half lead. That was all BC would need as goalkeeper
Melissa St. Louis and the Brooklyn defense would hold serve and shutout Lehman for the victory.
Brooklyn improved to .500 on the season with a 5-5-1 record while Lehman fell to 5-7 on the year.
The two teams tallied the same number of shots for the game, as each took eight, however Brooklyn placed all eight on goal while Lehman only took for on goal, all of which were stopped by St. Louis who played a solid game for the Bulldogs.
Lehman keeper Melanie Varillas had seven saves for the Lighting, but could not stop Flores from scoring the game-winner.
Brooklyn will remain on the road Saturday when they play their CUNYAC regular season finale, a 12pm contest against John Jay. The game will be vital in determining whether the team will make the CUNYAC postseason tournament, as only the top four teams in the league make the cut.
