Women’s Volleyball Drops First Two Games of New York State Challenge

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 New York, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Volleyball team dropped its first two games of the New York State Challenge this afternoon hosted by New York University. The Bulldogs fell to Hunter College, 3-0 (25-13, 25-8, 25-17) in their first game and later lost to Rochester Institute of Technology, 3-0 (25-15, 25-6, 25-15) in the second game.

Coming against Hunter, junior Jillian Escobar totaled 11 kills and eight digs, while senior Kathy Chu paced the offense with 18 assists. Senior Annalisa Carbonaro chipped in with 17 digs, to go along with seven kills and seven assists in an all-around performance. Sophomore Kayla Scurry contributed with seven kills.

In game two, Escobar once again led the offense with seven kills, to go along with five digs and two service aces; while Chu dished out 14 assists. Carbonaro was solid on defense again with seven digs.

Brooklyn will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, October 27th as the Bulldogs will conclude the New York State Challenge. BC will take on Elmira College at 9:00 am and then go up against SUNY Plattsburgh at 1:00 pm. Games are played at the Coles Sports Center on the campus of NYU.
