Women’s Soccer Falls to York, 2-1

Box Score Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to the Cardinals of York College on Thursday evening at Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn, NY. With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 2-4-1 overall, while the Cardinals improve to 4-6-1 overall.

Sophomore tri-captain Shani Abrahams got the Bulldogs on the board early, as she netted the first goal of the game in the fourth minute with freshmane Shani Nakhid-Schuster assisting on the goal.

BC would take their 1-0 advantage into the halftime break, as the Bulldogs dominated most of the first half action, outshooting the Cardinals 10-4 in the opening period.

The second half featured a different matchup, as York battled back to tie the game and later take the lead. Carolina Munoz got the equalizer in the 71st minute, while Woodeleine Beaujour notched the game-winner in the 87th minute, as York would go on to take the 2-1 win.

Brooklyn outshot York 13-8 for the game and also held the corner kick advantage 2-1. The Cardinals were whistled for eight fouls, compared to six fouls for the Bulldogs.

Senior Melissa St. Louis played all 90 minutes in goal for BC, allowing two goals to go along with two saves, while her counterpart Kiara Libreros also played all 90 minutes, surrendering one goal and registering 11 saves.

Brooklyn is back in action on Saturday, October 6th, as Brooklyn will take on borough and conference rival Medgar Evers College at 2:00 pm.
