BC Men Earn 2nd CUNYAC Win, Defeat CSI 109-82

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Men's Swimming and Diving Team notched their second straight conference win on Wednesday evening as they breezed past the visiting Dolphins of the College of Staten Island, 109-82.  The win improved the Bulldogs' record to an even 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC), while the Dolphins fall to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the CUNYAC.

BC took home eight first place finishes out of the 13 events that were competed in on the night.

Leading the way for Brooklyn were Antonio Gaspar, Kevin Barros and Emil Isaakov, who combined for six of the Bulldogs eight first place finishes.

Gaspar took first place in both diving events, scoring 218.93 points in the 1-Meter Dive and 230.70 points in the 3-Meter Dive.

Barros place first in both the 200-Yard IM (2:33.85) and the 100-Yard Freestyle (58.53), while Isaakov took top honors in both the 100-Yard Butterfly (1:03.36) and the 100-Yard Backstroke (1:12.74).

James Marty took first place in the grueling 1,000-Yard Freestyle (12:34.16), while Christopher Piechocki was the first to touch the wall in the 200-Yard Freestyle (2:02.13).

The Bulldogs have now completed the 2012 portion of their 2012-2013 schedule, as BC will break for final exams. Brooklyn will return to action on Thursday, January 3rd, as the Bulldogs will host the Lightning of Lehman College in a key CUNYAC meet. The meet is scheduled for a 6:00 pm start time at the West Quad Center Pool.
