Kean Tops Brooklyn 7-2

Box Score

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Tennis Team dropped their second straight decision on Thursday as they fell to visiting Kean, 7-2. With the loss the Bulldogs fall to 3-2 while the Cougars improve to 5-2 on the year.

While Brooklyn didn't have their best showing, they did get a dominant performance from #1 singles as reigning CUNYAC player Yuliya Orkis cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Jaelyn Lee.

Maria Sanz was the squad's other bright spot as she took her #4 singles match over Samira Jackson, 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (11-9).

"Kean came out very strong and aggressive in doubles, setting the tone for the match," said BC Head Coach Ahmad Odetalla.

The team must regain their focus as they have huge conference matches over the next two days as they take on Baruch on Friday at 3:30 pm and Hunter at 12:00 pm on Saturday. Both matches will be played at Brooklyn College.
