Old Westbury, NY – The Brooklyn College Men's and Women's Swimming teams lost their double dual meet on Friday night at the SUNY College at Old Westbury. The BC Men fell 98-83, while the BC Women were edged out 89-81.
With the losses, the Brooklyn Men drop to 2-4 overall on the season, while the Brooklyn Women fall to 5-4 overall on the year.
On the Women's side, BC took the first meet of the night, the Women's 200-Yard Medley Relay, as the Bulldogs' quartet of sophomores
Jenny Lee and
Laura Rodriguez, junior
Valentina Monroy and freshman
Danielle Mollo-Siano posted a top time of 2:21.95.
Mollo-Siano, Lee and Monroy also took home a first place finish in their individual events; as Mollo-Siano was the first to touch the wall in the fastest event of the night, the Women's 50-Yard Freestyle, with a time of 30.82, Lee took first in the Women's 100-Yard Butterfly (1:39.96) and Monroy came in first in the Women's 500-Yard Freestyle with a time of 6:25.04.
On the Men's side, junior
Wilson Lee was the first to touch the wall in the Men's 1,000-Yard Freestyle, the longest event of the evening, with a time of 14:58.58. Freshman
Emil Isaakov placed first in the Men's 100-Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:04.49, while classmate
Kevin Barros took first in the Men's 100-Yard Freestyle with a time of 58.48. Senior
James Marty came in first place in the Men's 100- Breaststroke with a time of 1:16.62.
Both teams will be back in action on Friday, January 18th, when the Bulldogs will welcome the Panthers of Purchase College to the West Quad Center for a non-conference double dual meet. The meet is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start time.
