Bulldogs Split Swim Meet With Panthers

Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Bulldogs and Purchase College Panthers swimming and diving teams spent their Friday evening in the pool, with the BC men defeating visiting Purchase, 106-97, while the PC women, were victorious, defeating Brooklyn, 112-76.

The Brooklyn men improve to 3-4 on the season while the women fall to 5-5.  Purchase's women improved to 6-3, while the men fall to 3-6.

The Bulldogs' Emil Isaakov, the reigning CUNYAC Rookie of the Week, once again impressed in the pool, winning both the 100-Yard Butterfly and 100-Yard Backstroke events. His first place times were 1:03.89 for the Butterfly and 1:10.19 for the Backstroke.

Brian Clarke was also impressive, winning the 100-Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:16.74

Christopher Piechocki took first in the 1,000-Yard Freestyle with a time of 12:10.80, while in the women's meet, Valentina Monroy also took first in the 1,000 Freestyle with a time of 13:09.05.

Monroy swept the distance events with a first place finish in the 500-Yard Freestyle with a time of 6:18.76.

Her teammate, Stephanie Caravello, continued her impressive season with a first place finish in the 100-Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:32.14.

The BC women will have a road meet at John Jay on Tuesday, before both teams conclude their regular seasons next Saturday, January 26th, when they host Sarah Lawrence at 1:00 pm.  The teams will honor their senior before the meet in a traditional Senior Day ceremony.
