Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams split its double dual meet on Saturday afternoon against the Gryphons of Sarah Lawrence College at the West Quad Center Pool. The BC Men were triumphant 106-98; while the BC Women fell 140-59.
With the win, the Brooklyn Men conclude the regular season with an even 4-4 overall record, while the Brooklyn Women finish the season with an even 6-6 overall record. The Sarah Lawrence Men fall to 2-6 overall on the season and the Sarah Lawrence Women move to 7-3 overall on the year.
On the Men's side, the Bulldogs were led by senior
Antonio Gaspar, junior
Wilson Lee and freshman
Kevin Barros, as all three took home a pair of first place finishes.
Gaspar took first in both the 1-Meter (188.70 points) and 3-Meter (219.00 points) Diving events, while Lee was the first to touch the wall in the two long distance events, posting top times in the 1,000 (14:34.06) and 500-Yard (6:51.71) Freestyles.
Barros earned first place finishes in both the 200-Yard IM (2:31.96) and the 100-Yard Backstroke (1:12.39).
On the Women's side, the Bulldogs were paced by juniors
Valentina Monroy and
Megan Pendergast. Monroy took first in the 200-Yard IM (2:37.61), while Pendergast placed first in the 100-Yard Freestyle (1:03.28).

Brian Fay,
Patrick O'Leary-Gullo and
Tonia Jerrick were all recognized for their hard work and dedication to the Brooklyn College Swimming & Diving programs as part of Senior Day Celebrations.
With the regular season now over, the BC Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams will focus on the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Championships, which will be held over three days (Thursday, January 31st – Saturday, February 2nd) at Lehman College.
