Bronx, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Tennis team blanked the Lightning of Lehman College, 9-0, on Thursday afternoon in the Bronx, NY in City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) action.

With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 9-1 overall on the season and 5-1 in the CUNYAC; while the Lightning fall to 4-9 overall on the year and 2-4 in conference play.

BC opened the match by taking all three doubles flights to take a commanding 3-0 lead. The team of Suraya Maenhout and Norma Lynn Chabbott won at #1 doubles, 8-2; while the pairing of Maria Sanz and Sarah Bildirici and the duo of Rosalia Xue and Gianna Gelosi each won by identical scores of 8-1, at #2 and #3 doubles, respectively.

Maenhout (6-1, 6-1), Sanz (6-0, 6-2), Xue (6-1, 6-2), Bildirici (6-1, 6-0), Gelosi (6-0, 6-0) and Olayinka Sarayi (6-1, 6-1) completed the sweep by earning wins at #1 - #6 singles, respectively.

Brooklyn will be back in action tomorrow, Friday, October 11th, as the Bulldogs will complete their CUNYAC regular season schedule against the Cardinals of York College. The match is slated for a 3:30 pm start time, weather permitting.
