Box Score 2 New York, NY --- In the second City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Women's Volleyball Multi-Match of the season held at Hunter College on Monday, Brooklyn College defeated both York College, 3-1 (25-18. 25-18, 11-25, 25-17), and the College of Staten Island, 3-2 (25-17, 20-25, 32-30, 21-25, 15-11).
The wins improve the Bulldogs' overall record on the year to 10-11 and an even 3-3 in CUNYAC play, as BC remains in the hunt for a top-four seed and the right to host a quarterfinal round matchup for the conference championships.
In the first match of the day against the York Cardinals, Brooklyn was led by
Julia Bogdan's team best 11 kills, to go along with eight service aces.
Francesca LoCascio added seven kills, while
Jillian Escobar chipped in with six kills.
Crystal Wu paced the offense with 19 assists. Defensively, Escobar led the way with 11 digs, while
Lisenia Rodriguez contributed with 10 digs.
In the second match of the day against the Dolphins of CSI, the Bulldogs were once again led by Bogdan, who finished with 14 kills. LoCascio and Escobar each added 12 kills, while Escobar also chipped in with 10 digs, for the double-double. Wu once again set the offense with 22 assists.
Yelizaveta Malysheva contributed with five aces, to go with six kills.
Brooklyn returns to action this Thursday, October 17th, as the Bulldogs will travel to New Rochelle, NY, to take on the Blue Angles of the College of New Rochelle. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start time. Live stats will be available for the match via
