Box Score Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Soccer Team improved to 8-1 on the year as they blanked visiting Lehman, 6-0. In all eight of the Bulldogs' victories this year they have won by shutout. The Lightning fall to 5-6 on the season.
Brooklyn dominated the first half of play right from the opening minute, and did not take long to get their first goal as freshman
Jordan Kerwin took a
Sayla Flores lead pass and found the net just 3:02 into the contest.
After failing on some other scoring opportunities, junior
Bergelie Louis used her strength to get by a Lehman defender and flip a shot past the Lightning keeper to give BC the 2-0 advantage during the game's 27th minute.
Moments later, in the 32nd minute,
Shani Abrahams made a nifty hesitation dribble past a defender and launched a shot from about 15 yards past the Lehman Goalie for her team's third goal of the game.
Louis would get back into the action for the team's final score before the half, as a Lehman defender and the keeper were entangled and the ball loose in front of the goal, she was able to knock home her second goal to give Brooklyn a 4-0 advantage.
The Bulldogs would continue to control play in the second half as Abrahams would add her second score of the evening and defender
Jasmine Fermin would score as well for the final tally of 6-0.
Brooklyn will remain at home on Saturday as they look to add to their eight wins while hosting CUNYAC foe Medgar Evers at 12 pm. Lehman will have 10 days off before playing John Jay on the 12th.
