Bronxville, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's and Women's Swimming teams competed at the Sarah Lawrence College Sprint Carnival on Saturday afternoon at the Campbell Sports Center in Bronxville, NY.
The Men came in third place (out of three teams), while the Women also came in third place (out of six teams).
On the Men's side,
Maged Mahmoud took first place in the 50-Yard Backstroke with a time of 33.94; while
Elliott Weinberg was the first to touch the wall in the 100-Yard IM with a time of 1:11.94.
Anthony Siu took second place in the 100-Yard IM with a time of 1:18.39.
Other notable performances came from
Kevin Barros (200-Yard IM; 2:37.36),
Ka Ho Yeung (200-Yard Freestyle; 2:25.15);
Fong Zeng (50-Yard Butterfly; 34.71) and
Brian Clarke (100-Yard Breaststroke; 1:22.33) who all took home third place finishes in their respective events.
On the Women's side,
Jenny Lee took second place in the 200-Yard IM (2:38.02) and third place in the 100-Yard Butterfly (1:14.29).
Valentina Monroy took place in the 100-Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:13.88.
Anju Gonzalez also took home a second place finish with a time of 29.46 in the 50-Yard Freestyle.
The Brooklyn quartet of

Megan Pendergast, Lee and Monroy took third place in the 200-Yard Medley Relay with a time of 2:16.26.

The BC Women will be back in action on Thursday, November 14th, as the Bulldogs will host John Jay College of Criminal Justice in a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) meet in Brooklyn's 2013-2014 home opener. The meet is scheduled for a 6:00 pm start time.
The BC Men will be back in action on Saturday, November 16th, as the Bulldogs will return to Bronxville, NY to take on Sarah Lawrence and Mount Saint Mary College (NY) in a tri-meet at 1:00 pm.
