Women’s Swimming Sinks St. Joseph’s (BK), 59-36

Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Swimming team traveled to borough rival St. Joseph's College (BK) on Friday evening, as the Bulldogs sunk the Lady Bears, 59-36, at Brooklyn Technical High School.

With the win, BC improves to 4-5 overall on the season; while St. Joseph's (BK) falls to 1-5 overall on the year.

The Bulldogs controlled the meet taking home eight first place finishes out of the 11 events that were held on the night.

Leading the way for BC was senior Valentina Monroy, who took first place in the 1,000-Yard Freestyle (13:12.24) and the 100-Yard Butterfly (1:11.48).

Seniors Megan Pendergast (2:21.99) and Stephanie Caravello (1:15.15) and juniors Jenny Lee (2:36.03), Anju Gonzalez (1:04.12) and Enlisa Ng Ou (1:20.71) all took home first place finishes in the 200-Yard Freestyle, 100-Yard Backstroke, 200-Yard IM, 100-Yard Freestyle and the 100-Yard Breaststroke, respectively.

The foursome of Pendergast, Gonzalez, Caravello and Monroy also took home first place in the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:55.62.

Senior Nicole O'Brien (14:07.56), sophomores Danielle Mollo-Siano (31.57) and Bennett Collier (7:24.67), Ng Ou (2:39.32) and Lee (1:25.06) also added second place finishes for the Bulldogs in the 1,000-Yard Freestyle, 50-Yard Freestyle, 500-Yard Freestyle, 200-Yard IM and 100-Yard Breaststroke, respectively.

Brooklyn returns to action on Wednesday, December 11th, as the Bulldogs will travel to Purchase, NY to take on the Panthers of Purchase College. The meet is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start time.
