Box Score 2 Jamaica, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Volleyball team began City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) play today at the CUNYAC Multi-Match hosted by York College.
BC dropped both of its matches on the day, as the Bulldogs lost 3-0 to both Baruch College (25-6, 25-19, 26-24) and Hunter College (25-12, 25-16, 25-17).
In the first match against Baruch, senior
Jillian Escobar led the team with five kills and six digs, while freshman
Crystal Wu dished out 11 asssits.
The Bearcats were led by Sydney Parks' nine kills, while Crystle Dela Cruz registered a double-double with 18 assists and 11 digs.
Coming against Hunter, Brooklyn was led by Escobar once again, who tallied a team-high five kills. Wu paced the offense with 14 assists, while junior
Daniza Pina chipped in with 10 digs. Freshman
Julia Bogdan added four kills, while junior
Najada Xhemo contributed with eight digs.
For the Hawks, Samantha Barrett posted a match-high eight kills, while Kristine Ciurcina handed out 21 assists. Taylor Kordich also helped set up the offense with 13 assists. Alisa Jaganjac recorded 12 digs.
Brooklyn (0-3, 0-2 CUNYAC) will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday, September 15th, as the Bulldogs will travel to Bronxville, NY to participate in a tri-match, going up against Mitchell College (1:00 pm) and host Sarah Lawrence College (3:00 pm). Live stats for both matches will be available via
