Box Score Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Volleyball team defeated City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) and borough foe the Cougars of Medgar Evers College in straight sets on Thursday evening at the West Quad Center by a score of 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-19).
With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 3-4 overall on the season and 1-2 in the CUNYAC; while the Cougars fall to 1-7 overall on the year and 0-4 in conference play.
Leading the way to the BC win was freshman
Julia Bogdan, who tallied a match-best seven kills, while posting a solid .500 hitting percentage. Senior
Jillian Escobar registered four service aces, to go with six kills and five digs; while freshman
Francesca LoCascio added five kills. Freshman
Crystal Wu dished out nine assists, while junior
Najada Xhemo chipped in with five digs.
The Bulldogs used a total team effort in securing the victory, as all 16 players saw time on the court to contribute.
For Medgar Evers, Janiece Hill led the team with five kills, while Nina Bermadin-White chipped in with seven assists. Beatrice Bonhomme and Kalifa Roberts each finished the night with seven digs apiece.
Brooklyn returns to action this Saturday, September 21st, as the Bulldogs will travel to Annandale-on-Hudson, NY to take on the Raptors of Bard College. The match is scheduled for a 1:00 pm start.
