John Jay would earn its own grueling 9-7 win, as the team of Armine Kurkjian and Gabriela Baez took the #1 doubles flight.

The Bulldogs would take control of the match during singles play, as Brooklyn swept all six flights en route to its 8-1 win.

The match of the day came at #2 singles, as Maenhout outlasted Baez in a third set super tiebreaker, 6-0, 4-6, 1-0 (10-4). For Maenhout, this would be her second straight third set super tiebreaker win.

Rounding out the singles sweep were Ekaterina Mospanova (7-5, 6-3), Sanz (6-1, 6-3) and Gelosi (6-4, 6-0), winning at #1, #3 and #6 singles, respectively.

"I think some of our players were a bit deflated after doubles, but they recovered to play well in singles," said Head Coach Ahmad Odetalla. "We've got to give John Jay credit for making us earn this one. We now look forward to some more tough matches next week."

Brooklyn returns to action this Monday, September 23rd, as the Bulldogs will play host to St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn). The match is scheduled for a 4:30 pm start time at the Roosevelt Courts.
