Box Score Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Men's Soccer Team got a pair of goals in each half, as they've now done in the three consecutive games, to defeat visiting Hunter, 4-1, and improve to 2-0 in conference play. The win was the Bulldogs thirds straight, improving their overall record to 5-3, while the Hawks fall to 0-10, and 0-2 in CUNYAC competition.
BC forward
Igor Pacca got things rolling for the home Bulldogs, scoring on a
Dmitry Prokofyev assist during the game's 11th minute for the 1-0 advantage.
Prokofyev would get his own score later in the half as he headed a ball that deflected off the crossbar, and then found his own rebound, smoothly placing the ball where the goalie was not, and giving his team a commanding 2-0 lead.
Brooklyn would take that lead into the intermission before
Oleg Tykhonravov, who entered as a a halftime substitution for Prokofyev, took a feed from
Kenny Benitez and found the net, boosting BC to a solid 3-0 advantage with 29:54 left to play.
Hunter would get a score from Bryan Suertegaray on an impressive kick from about 30 yards out, lofting the ball over keeper
Stamatis Boundouris' head to cut the deficit to 3-1.
Tykhonravov would answer back quickly for his second score of the half to give his team a 4-1 lead, the eventual final score, during the 88th minute.
Manuel Baltazar assisted on the goal, his first on the year.
Brooklyn will remain home on Saturday in what may be one of their biggest games of the regular season as they meet Baruch in a rematch of the CUNYAC Championship Game from a year ago. That contest will start at 12 pm at Brooklyn College Field. Admission is free.
