Women’s Volleyball Swept on Day Two of Stevens Invitational

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Hoboken, NJ --- Concluding the 2013 Stevens Institute of Technology Invitational on Saturday, the Brooklyn College Women's Volleyball team fell in straight sets to both Farmingdale State College, 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-13), and host Stevens, 3-0 (25-12, 25-9, 25-13).

Brooklyn drops to 5-9 overall on the season, while Farmingdale improves to 5-16 overall on the year and Stevens moves to 15-4 overall.

In the first match of the day, Julia Bogdan led BC with five kills, while Francesca LoCascio added four kills. Crystal Wu dished out seven assists, while Yelizaveta Malysheva and Anna Li contributed with six digs each. Li also recorded two service aces.

Farmingdale was led by Karen Ulysse's 10 kills, while Megan Pisciotta paced the offense with 27 assists. Sarah Palladino chipped in with 11 digs. The Rams totaled 14 aces on the day, led by Maia Calde-Hinton's five.

In the second and final match of the day against Stevens, Jillian Escobar had four kills, nine digs and two block assists, while Wu added seven assists and six digs. Bogdan finished with three kills, two aces and six digs.

Stevens was led by Kristen Herchenroder's nine kills, while posting an .857 hitting percentage. As a team, the Ducks hit .353 with 40 kills. Ashley Castillo dished out 26 assists and Catie Shelton chipped in with seven digs.

Brooklyn will return to action on Thursday, October 3rd, as the Bulldogs will host Sarah Lawrence College. The match is scheduled for a 7:30 pm start time. The first 200 fans in attendance will receive a free t-shirt.
