Women’s Soccer Opens Season with Victory Over Sarah Lawrence

Box Score Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Soccer team (1-0) kicked off year two of its program with a dominating 7-0 win against the Gryphons of Sarah Lawrence College (0-1) on Tuesday night at BC Field.

Junior Shani Abrahams, the reigning City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) Rookie of the Year, picked up where she left off last season, as BC's leading goal scorer from a year ago notched the first goal of the 2013 season to put the Bulldogs ahead 1-0 in the 11th minute. Abrahams would later assist on BC's second goal of the game, as her cross into the box helped set up freshman Jordan Kerwin, who found the back of the net for her first collegiate score, putting the Bulldogs up 2-0 in the 15th minute. Sophomore Sayla Flores notched a pair of goals (58th and 64th minutes) in the half, while Kerwin would add her second goal of the game in the 61st minute). Kerwin also assisted on Flores' first goal via a corner kick.
