Box Score

New York, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Soccer team made a statement on Saturday morning at Randall's Island, as the Bulldogs defeated the defending City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) champion, the City College of New York (CCNY), 2-0, in a non-conference match.

With the win, the Bulldogs move to 2-0 overall, while the Beavers fall to 1-2 on the young season. The 2-0 win also marks the second straight shutout for Brooklyn.

Junior transfer Bergelie Louis got BC on the board with her second goal of the season with an assist coming from sophomore Sayla Flores. At around the 20th minute, Louis sent a shot from 20 yards out that found the back of the net for the opening goal.

Just 10 minutes later, BC would strike again, when freshman Jordan Kerwin notched her third goal of the year to put the Bulldogs ahead, 2-0. Kerwin dribbled alone down the left side and shot from 18 yards out to beat the keeper.

Brooklyn will be back in action on Wednesday, September 11th, when the Bulldogs will play host to borough rival St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn). The match is scheduled for a 5:00 pm start time at BC Field.
