Men’s & Women’s Swimming Teams Fall at Baruch

New York, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's and Women's Swimming teams each fell to the Bearcats of Baruch College on Monday evening at the ARC Aquatic Center in a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) dual meet.

The Brooklyn Men lost 133-67, while the Brooklyn Women lost 143-60.

On the women's side, Jenny Lee took home the Bulldogs lone first place finish, as she was the first to touch the wall in the 400-SC Meter Freestyle with a time of 5:31.78. Lee also posted a second place finish in the 200-SC Meter Freestyle (2:34.51) and the 100-SC Meter Butterfly (1:22.66).

Other notable performers were Nicole O'Brien (800-SC Meter Freestyle; 12:40.91), Valentina Monroy (200-SC Meter IM; 2:55.39) and Stephanie Caravello (100-SC Meter Backstroke; 1:24.31) who all registered second place finishes.

On the men's side, the foursome of Brian Clarke, Elliott Weinberg, Blake Bakal and Kevin Barros took home a first place showing in the 200-SC Meter Freestyle Relay with a time of 2:03.01.

Weinberg (200-SC Meter Freestyle; 2:38.28) and Barros (100-SC Meter Freestyle; 1:07.42) also took home second place finishes.

Other key performances came from Ka Ho Yeung (800-SC Meter Freestyle; 11:43.65), Seth Weiss (50-SC Meter Freestyle; 30.59) and Maksym Soloninko (200-SC Meter IM; 2:47.39) who also took home second place finishes.

The Brooklyn Women will be back in action on Tuesday, January 21st, as the Bulldogs will welcome the Hawks of Hunter College for the CUNYAC finale. The meet is scheduled for a 6:00 pm start time at the West Quad Center. The Brooklyn Men will return to action on Tuesday, January 28th for the regular season finale against the Panthers of the College at Old Westbury. The meet is scheduled for a 6:00 pm start time at the West Quad Center.
