Men’s Soccer Plays Baruch to Scoreless Draw

Box Score Maspeth, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's Soccer team (4-8-1, 2-2-1 CUNYAC) played the Bearcats of Baruch College (7-5-1, 3-2-1 CUNYAC) to a scoreless tie, 0-0, in City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) play on Saturday afternoon at Met Oval in Maspeth, NY.

The Bearcats outshot the Bulldogs 19-12 in the match, while also holding a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The goalkeepers shined in the game, as Brooklyn's Ilya Keygen made three saves playing all 110 minutes, while Baruch's Peter DiBona also played all 110 minutes and registered six saves.

Fernand Grisales had three shot on goals in the game, but was unable to find the back of the net. Omer Capoglu also had multiple scoring chances with two shots on goal.

"It was a tough and physical game as always against a physical Baruch team," said assistant coach Roger Sandy. "The guys played hard and never took a step backwards. They gave a great effort and we had some very good chances, but did not capitalize on them. As a coaching staff, we are satisfied with the effort they gave today."

Brooklyn returns to action on Saturday, October 18th, as the Bulldogs will continue with CUNYAC play hosting the Lightning of Lehman College at BC Field. The match is scheduled for a 2:30 pm start time. BC will honor its departing senior class prior to the start of the match.
