Box Score Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Soccer team (4-6, 3-0 CUNYAC) scored a 3-0 shutout win on Saturday afternoon at BC Field over the Lightning of Lehman College (6-5-1, 2-2 CUNYAC) in a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) contest.
Junior
Sayla Flores put the Bulldogs on the board in the 30th minute with an unassisted goal, her first of the season.
The game would remain 1-0 in favor of the home team until the 60th minute, when freshman
Isabelle Lalami sent a pass down the left side to sophomore
Jordan Kerwin, who found the back of the net for her first goal of the year, putting Brooklyn up 2-0.
The Bulldogs would score their third and final goal of the game in the 66th minute, when
Bergelie Louis scored with Flores assisting.
Freshman
Rebecca Harmata made three saves to register the shutout win, while playing all 90 minutes. Her counterpart, Stephanie Gonzalez, also played all 90 minutes and recorded 12 saves.
"Today was a much needed bounce back win following some tough losses," said head coach
Patrick Horne. "The team realized the urgency of today's game against a league opponent and executed well."
Brooklyn returns to the pitch on Thursday, October 16th, as the Bulldogs host the Panthers of SUNY College at Old Westbury in a non-conference match. The game is scheduled for a 5:00 pm start time at BC Field. Gates will open at 4:15 pm and the first 150 fans in attendance will receive a free t-shirt.
