Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Tennis team (6-3, 4-2 CUNYAC) defeated the Lightning of Lehman College (2-7, 1-5 CUNYAC) 7-1 in the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) regular season finale for both teams.

Suraya Maenhout and Muriel Dervich teamed up to earn an 8-3 win at #1 doubles, while Rosalia Xue and Lauren Marino won 8-4 at #2 doubles.

Dervich (6-1, 6-2) and Anastasia Volovik (6-0, 6-1) earned wins at #1 and #2 singles, respectively.

The Bulldogs began the match with a 3-0 lead, as Lehman had to default #3 doubles, #5 singles and #4 singles.

The Bulldogs will now enter the 2014 CUNYAC Women's Tennis Championships as the #3 seed and will take on the #6 seeded Lightning. Lehman enters the championships as the #6 seed. The quarterfinals match is scheduled for Sunday at 12:00 pm.
