Women’s Soccer Falls to Old Westbury, 3-1

Box Score Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss against the Panthers of SUNY College at Old Westbury on Thursday at Brooklyn College Field. With the defeat, the Bulldogs drop to 4-7 overall on the season, while the Panthers even their overall record to 6-6-1.

Old Westbury would strike first as Jordan Schildt got the visitors on the board in the 11th minute with her sixth goal of the year on an assist from Stephanie Maybie. The Panthers would tally their second goal of the game in the 31st minute, when Sara Bey sent a pass to Edania Martinez who was able to beat the keeper for her first goal of the year.

The Bulldogs would go into the halftime break trailing 2-0.

Brooklyn would eventually cut its deficit in half, 2-1, in the 66th minute, when Jordan Kerwin took a pass from Serene Drakes to score her second goal of the year.

The Panthers would add an insurance goal in the 70th minute when Martinez sent a pass to Maybie, who was able to notch her 19th goal of the year.

Rebecca Harmata played all 90 minutes in goal for BC, allowing three goals to go with 11 saves. Caitlin Thomas played the first 76:18 of the match, making four saves and surrendering one score, while Melissa Muller finished the final 13:42 and registered one save.

Brooklyn returns to action this Saturday, October 18th, as the Bulldogs will host the Dolphins of the College of Staten Island in a matchup of undefeated City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) teams. The game is scheduled for a 12:00 pm start time at BC Field.
