Women’s Soccer Cruises Past York

Box Score Brooklyn, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Soccer team continued its solid play against City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) opponents this season, as the Bulldogs downed the Cardinals of York College, 9-0, on Monday evening at BC Field.

With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 5-7-1 overall on the season and remain unblemished in conference play at 4-0-1. BC has yet to surrender a goal in conference play. York drops to 2-11 overall and 0-4 in the CUNYAC.

The Bulldogs jumped on the Cardinals early, scoring seven first half goals. Leading the way was the trio of Isabelle Lalami, Sayla Flores and Jordan Kerwin, who all scored two goals each in the opening period. Shani Nakhid-Shuster also added a goal.

Lalami would go on to add a third goal in the second half to complete the hat trick, while Jomhara Palacios scored the first goal of her BC career.

Kerwin, Lalami and Bergelie Louis also finished the game with two assists each.

York's Sarah Hilaire registered 20 saves in net for York.

Brooklyn will return to action on Wednesday, October 22nd, as the Bulldogs will conclude conference play against borough rival Medgar Evers College. The game is scheduled for a 6:30 pm start time at BC Field.
