Women’s Soccer Falls to NYU

Box Score Riverdale, NY --- The Brooklyn College Women's Soccer team (3-6) fell to the Violets of New York University (8-3), 4-0, in a non-conference match on Tuesday evening at Gaelic Park.

NYU took an early 1-0 lead, as the Violets scored off of Stephanie Ho's corner kick with Teressa Fazio tallying the opening goal in the 4th minute.

The game would remain 1-0 in favor of the home team until the 51st minute, when Mimi Tran sent a cross to Cami Crawford, who made it 2-0.

The Violets would go up 3-0 in the 80th minute, when Mckennah Spagnola scored off of a misplay by the keeper.

Just a minute later in the 81st minute, NYU would tally its fourth and final score of the night on a cross from Sofia Toohey to Claire Shanahan.

Freshman Rebecca Harmata played all 90 minutes in goal for the Bulldogs, while registering 10 saves and allowing four goals. Her counterpart, Cassie Steinberg also played all 90 minutes in goal for NYU to record the shutout.

Brooklyn will return to action this Saturday, October 11th, as the Bulldogs will host the Lightning of Lehman College in a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) matchup. The game is scheduled for a 12:00 pm start time at BC Field.
