ResultsJamaica, NY --- The Brooklyn College Men's and Women's Swimming teams each picked up their first wins of the season on Monday night against City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) foe York College. The BC Men were triumphant 109-69, while the BC Women won 91-64.
On the women's side, the Bulldogs took the opening event of the day, the 200-SC Meter Medley Relay, as the foursome of
Nora Schreiber,
Eva Chan,
Bennett Collier and
Danielle Mollo-Siano took first place with a time of 2:51.98. Schreiber would also later take first in her individual event, the 100-SC Meter Butterfly with a time of 1:55.22, while Chan was the first to touch the wall in the 400-SC Meter Freestyle with a time of 6:58.22.
Rosalia Xue had a solid individual performance taking first place in the 200-SC Meter Freestyle with a time of 2:55.57 and first place in the 100-SC Meter Freestyle with a time of 1:15.16, while
Enlisa Ng Ou took the top spot in the 200-SC Meter IM with a time of 2:56.50.
On the men's side, Brooklyn also took the first event of the night, the 200-SC Meter Medley Relay, as the quartet of
Maged Mahmoud,
Maksym Soloninko,
Fong Zeng and
Jonathan Boyce took first place with a time of 2:17.79. Mahmoud also added a first place finish in the 200-SC Meter IM with a time of 3:00.69.
Kevin Barros was the first to touch the wall in the 200-SC Meter Freestyle with a time of 2:33.11, while
Tsewang Nyima took the top spot in the 100-SC Meter Freestyle with a time of 1:11.10.
Umut Tanritanir placed first in the 400-SC Meter Freestyle with a time of 6:07.15.
Brooklyn will be back in action on Wednesday, December 3rd, as the Bulldogs will host CUNYAC rival, the Dolphins of the College of Staten Island. The meet is scheduled for a 6:00 pm start time at the West Quad Center Pool.
