Box ScoreMahwah, NJ --- The Brooklyn College Women's Tennis team dropped its final spring match against the Roadrunners of Ramapo College on Wednesday evening at the Athletic Center on the campus of Ramapo.
Brooklyn ends its 2013-2014 season with a 13-4 overall record, while Ramapo moves to 16-2 overall on the year.
The Roadrunners set the tone early on, jumping out to a 3-0 lead after doubles play. The team of Carly Agrifolio and Sara Luby cruised to an 8-0 win at #1 doubles, while the duo of Stephanie Abrecht and Maegan Heaney easily won 8-1 at #2 doubles. The pairing of Ivy Schuckman and Micala Demchak earned a hard fought 8-6 win at #3 doubles to complete the sweep.
Ramapo continued its solid play into singles, as Agrifolio (6-0, 6-0), Luby (6-0, 6-2), Abrecht (6-1, 6-0), Demchak (8-1) and Elena Maria Ilieva (8-3) won their respective matches at #1, #2, #3, #4 and #6 flights.
Brooklyn earned its lone win of the day at #5 singles, as
Julia Krechmar came back to defeat Heaney, 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-4).
