Women's Soccer Falls To New Palz, 1-0, In Scarlet Raider Classic

Box Score Newark, NJ---The Brooklyn College Women's Soccer Team hung tough with undefeated New Palz on Saturday, however a Sloane Lipshie second half goal lifted the Hawks to a 1-0 decision over the Bulldogs in non-conference action.  Brooklyn now stands at 0-3 on the young season, having played three tough non-conference opponents all away from home, while New Palz climbs to 4-0.

The game was the first of two for BC at the Rutgers Newark Scarlet Raider Classic, as the Bulldogs will face Frostburg State University tomorrow at 1 pm.  The Bobcats will enter the game with a 2-0-1 mark after playing host Rutgers Newark to a 1-1 tie earlier today.

The Bulldogs brightest spot of the day was freshman goalkeeper Rebecca Harmata who recorded 10 saves while in goal for BC. Sophomore forward Jordan Kerwin led the team with two shots, but was unable to convert, as Brooklyn is still looking for their first score of 2014.

After tomorrow's contest, Brooklyn will be eager to open their home schedule next Friday, as the defending CUNYAC Champions will host New Jersey Athletic Conference opponent New Jersey City University.
