Box Score 3 Mahwah, NJ --- The women's volleyball team battled in three tough matches at the Ramapo Tournament this past weekend in Mahwah.
Play began Friday evening, as they faced SUNY Cortland. The Red Dragons swept the Bulldogs in all three sets, 25-8, 25-12, 25-8. Junior Samantha Czeczotka led Cortland with 10 kills, totaling three aces, six digs and two blocks. Freshman Tracy Singleton (Stony Brook/Ward Melville) added eight kills.
Francesca LoCascio led Brooklyn (5-10) with seven kills and nine digs. Cortland finished with a 2-1 record in the tournament, Hunter 1-2, Brooklyn 0-3, while Ramapo College went undefeated.

Francesca LoCascio led Brooklyn, each collecting three kills, as
Crystal Wu tallied 11 assists while she also led the team in digs with nine. However, efforts were not enough to fight their way back and earn the win, as BC dropped a 25-13, 25-17, 25-15 decision.
Hunter defeated Brooklyn in the last match of the tournament, winning all three sets, 25-8, 25-16, 25-8. Strong performances by Taylor Haiduk-Kerr, Julia Connolly, and Miranda Hooan led the Hawks to the victory, improving their record to 8-9 overall.
Sasha Roopchand recorded 4 kills for the Bulldogs, and
Crystal Wu tallied 8 digs and 9 assists.Â
The Bulldogs are now 5-12 overall after this weekend's play. The team will compete on Wednesday, October 7 against Purchase College (0-11), in non-conference play.Â
