Patchogue, NY --- After coming off of a win against the City College of New York, the Bulldogs Women's Tennis Team was defeated by St. Joseph's College of Long Island, 8-1, on Tuesday evening. This loss drops Brooklyn to 2-5 this season while the Golden Eagles improve to 7-1.

Suraya Maenhout of Brooklyn College dominated Shannon Merker of St. Joseph's in #1 singles, 7-6, 6-2, as she defeated Merker in a tiebreaker. St. Joseph's swept Brooklyn across the board in doubles action and the remaining singles matches.

The BC Women return to play on Wednesday at 3 pm on the Roosevelt Courts at Brooklyn College where they'll face CUNYAC rival Hunter.
