Box Score Brooklyn, NY-----In a fast-paced thriller, the Brooklyn College men's basketball team made the necessary stops and knocked down free throws down the stretch to defeat New Jersey City University in the Bulldogs' home opener to improve to 3-0 to start the 2015-16 season. It was the Gothic Knights' season opener. The Bulldogs will play their second game in a row at home against a NJAC opponent this Saturday, November 21, against William Paterson University. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM.

Jamel Gist went on a 7-0 run himself to help the Bulldogs take a 79-73 lead with a little over four minutes left to play. It would be enough of a run BC needed for the Gothic Knights to give fouls in the final two minutes of the game.

Egzon Gjonbalaj was a perfect 6-6 from the free-throw line in the final minute to seal the win.
The Bulldogs trailed by as many as nine points in the first half.
Egzon Gjonbalaj laid the ball in to cut the NJCU lead to 49-42 at the half.
Maintaining a relatively comfortable 51-42 lead in the first two and half minutes of the second half, it was looking like the Gothic Knights had a chance to hand BC their first loss of the season. However, the home team buckled down on defense and tied the game 55-55 on a senior forward
Lorenzo Williams layup.
After tying the game, the Bulldogs kept a one to two possession lead over the Gothic Knights. This led to NJCU's comeback one-point lead erased by Gist's seven unanswered points.
Williams led all scorers with 25 points on the evening and was a perfect 9-9 from the charity stripe.
Egzon Gjonbalaj added 21 points and five assists. Gist finished up with 19 points.
