Brooklyn, NY---The #1 seeded Brooklyn College Women's Basketball Team advanced to the Championship Round of the 2015 ECAC Metro Postseason Tournament on Saturday, knocking off Sage, the #4 seed, 61-55, at the West Quad Center. Brooklyn will face the #2 seeded Rutgers Newark in the Championship Game on Sunday, March 8th, at 5:30 pm at the West Quad Center.
Rutgers Newark edged out #3 Staten Island in the day's other semifinal, winning in overtime behind 30 points from their senior forward Jade Howard.
Brooklyn improvees to 21-7 on the year, and advances to the ECAC Championship for the third consecutive season.
The Bulldogs were able to withstand eight made three pointers by the visiting Gators, as they outrebounded Sage, 48-35, including a game-high 14 from senior
Asia Foster.
Brooklyn got a big double-double from First Team All-CUNYAC performer
Megan Campbell, who scored 24 points and grabbed 10 boards in the win.
Vanessa D'Ambrosi had a huge game for BC as well, scoring 17 points while pulling down seven boards and handing out five assists.
Point guard
Nicole Francomano also filled up the stat sheet by scoring 12 points, grabbling seven rebounds and dishing out a team-high six assists.
Megan Bowman and Krysta Vanacore eached scored 12 to lead Sage, who ends their season at 18-8.
