Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Bulldogs 14-12, 9-3 CUNYAC split a doubleheader with Hunter (16-4, 10-2 CUNYAC) on Thursday, winning game one 1-0 and then falling in game two 11-6. The game one win knocked Hunter out of first place in the conference standings. The Hawks did clinch the second seed and a first round bye in the upcoming championship tournament with the game two win, while the Bulldogs lock up the #3 seed.
Kimberly Brennan was the game one hero, knocking a two-out, ground-rule RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning for the game's only run, giving the Bulldogs the big win.
Pitcher
Kayla Hill was huge for BC, throwing the complete game shutout. It was her third consecutive shutout, as the senior blanked St. Elizabeth Monday and York on Saturday.
In game two, the Hunter bats heated up, as the Hawks were able to generate 11 runs to get the win. The Bulldogs used a combination of
Ashley Tkacsik, Hill and Brennan in the circle to combine for the seven inning effort.
Brooklyn will be back in action on Sunday as they travel to Newark, New Jersey to take on tough non-conference opponent Rutgers Newark in a doubleheader beginning at 1 pm.
